Ebay sub boxes
So when my truck was down I won a box on Ebay for 2 10's that would go under the rear seat. Got the box and went to test fit it tonight and the seats won't go down with the box in. I got the box where the woofers would face down and it seems as though the speaker ports are too large and the box doesn't fit properly. Has anyone trimmed boxes from Ebay to fit? Would it take away from the box if I trimmed it? I am not an audio guy, so any help is appreciated.

it depends. some boxes are built and 'tuned' for a specific frequency in a specific space, while others are simply a box that holds your subs.
|
bring them with you on Sunday so I can get a look at them and also, see what Pat said about that back seat.

I don't think it will fit even if the back seat is raised up. There will not be enough room for the subs if they are mounted down. I e-mailed the seller and told him that I got the wrong box. Checked the ad for the box I won and it was for a box where the subs fired up, not down. This box has been a nightmare since day 1. Took 3 weeks to get, was shipped US Postal Service, no tracking number, contact with the seller was horrible, list goes on. Should never have bought from a seller with a 95% feedback rating. Now I wait for a response.....

dayum that bites. send a letter right away to ebay as well, letting them know that it took a while to find this out as your truck was in the shop. do it now as your time period for reporting a problem is short !

True. Side note, I got a deal on another box from an actual sound shop with 100% feedback. Should have it in a few weeks.

cut the carpet out.

I have the Joe Fox box. It came with spacers for the rear seat.
