Does anyone know?
How are the front axle shafts retained? In order to pull the axle shafts out do you have to open up the diff and remove a retainer clip? Or is it retained by the castle nut on the hub assembly. Service manual says to remove axle shaft and thats it. Am I missing something?
TIA Eli |
There are no internal clips. Just the nut on the axle through the hub.

Can someone explain to me what CAD is that is referenced in the write up link above (first paragraph). I know this is on a Dana axle, but I was wondering if I have to do this with the AAM axle. Once I have the hub off I can just pull the axles out right? Is there a need to lock it in 4x4 before I start? TIA ELI |

Once the hub is off, you can just pull the axle out. No need to lock it in 4x4. |
