Fuel pressure gauge

I was thinking, why not just use a oil pressure gauge, instead of spending $200-250 on a fuel pressure one, they can be had for nothing, as long as the scale is not to wide, and the sending unit is diesel proof.

I was thinking the same. I have an extra oil pressure gauge for a Harley Davidson and thought of installing it on top of a billet fuel filter cap from Genos.

It needs to be inside the cab. You'll need to see readings at different throttle positions. Kinda tough to open the hood and look at 60 MPH.

Just make sure the pressure range is 0-30 (approx) and you install a "snubber". A snubber is something to restrict the pressure pulses. It can be as simple as a $8, 1/8" needle valve just cracked open, or a $25 Cummins snubber that you can't close if you have a leak so you have to buy the $8 needle valve anyway. [duhhh]

Don't ask me how I know that. [whistle]
