Where to place firestone gauge??
hey guys, so im hookin up an air bag kit with the firestone gauge/control switch. i just can't seem to find a suitable place to mount it so that it won't get in the way, and look reasonable. im leaning towards putting the gauge across the dash from the cigarette lighter, under the vent, beside the heater controls.. could probably get the gauge to look ok in there, and then the switch can be just about anywhere. any ideas, or pics?
thanks guys, truck is a 2003 quad cab slt |

if Im right theres a 3-gauge plate you can put below your vent controls. You'll get more responces if you post in the 3rd gen section

On my '08 I've got the dual needle gauge and controls mounted in the cavity under the dash. Since it's a manual its almost directly below the cigarette lighter to keep clear of the stick.
I'll post a pic if I can get one uploaded. Kris

I've always just had them mounted in the left side of the glove box - done this on 4 separate trucks....its clean and out of the way.

The Titan tank is great, but unfortunately no pics. Took about 4 hours to install and the 50 gallon capacity is nice to have for those times where I want to wait until I find a better place to fuel up. Its only quirk is the fuel gauge won't start to drop until you're under a half tank (25 gal) which threw me for a loop the first time I made a 300 plus mile trip with it.
And the overhead display adjusted automatically for distance until empty, and reads almost 800 miles for it. Kris |

ya i been thinkin bout making something similar, but bigger under where the spare goes and everything. i currently have a 600 L tank in the box.. its 19" high (flush with bed rails) 64" wide and 32" deep. i can go for 'quite awhile' anyway.. but it'd be nice to have bed space back.

If you haven't bought your setup yet you should look into the Airlift Wirelss setup, I have one on my truck, no need to run wires and air lines into the cab, here's a write up I did on it, the kit normally comes with a compressor but I got them to substitute a solenoid instead since I used the exhaust brake compressor:

Took the ash tray out and installed it there. Plenty of room behind it to run the air lines.
