Re:New Mirrors?
Those look a lot like the one's my dad has on his '96. He says it makes towing his 5'er a lot easier and better field of view then the slip-on one's he had.

Butch
Re:New Mirrors?
I really dislike the OEM towing mirrors. I have them on mine, and while they look nice, there's not much functionality to them. The entire right mirror should be convex, not just that little section. I've had 2 very close calls involving cars on the right side.

I absolutely prefer having the right side mirror having the actual view rather than the convex. I find it easier to judge how far past cars I am when towing my trailer. Just a matter of preference.

Re:New Mirrors?
Before you buy expensive mirrors why not go and test drive a new dodge truck with the OEM towing mirrors on it, that would let you see for yourself if you like them. As for me I have the OEM fold out mirrors and could not be happier. And install is very easy, three small bolts on each side and your done the cost is only $245.00 not $300.00. Just my .02.

Re:New Mirrors?
Grampaw,

You and I have conversed about these mirrors before. As you know, I really like them and have seen them installed on a '96 dually..... they look great and you still keep your power mirror option.

bigfoot and cmn_not_strokn,

You didn't say whether you still have power mirrors, but I'm assuming you lost that feature when you switched over to the new flip-out mirrors. Unless I'm mistaken, those mirrors didn't have power options until they came on the 3rd generation trucks.
I'm sure we've all read of a few guys that have taken the heads off the 3rd gen. mirrors and put them on the 2nd gen. bases in order to retain their powered mirrors. I think the mirrors Grampaw is talking about is the best and least expensive way to go to keep our powered mirrors on the 2nd gen. trucks.

Just my thoughts.

Re:New Mirrors?
When I bought my truck it had "Power Vision" mirrors on it and they extend nicely by pushing a button by the left mirror mount. Even when fully extended the don't vibrate going down the road. www.powervisionmirrors.com
Tom

Re:New Mirrors?
46mech,
My truck never had the power mirrors. It had the old style towing mirrors that bolted to the door as opposed to the window like the new ones. The old ones were too big and bulky and don't look near as good as the new style.
