I failed to notice the price at the usual station as we went by in my Dads '01 1500.

Still 2.75 at the Shell on the north end of town.

$1.35/gal.

Yes. That's right. $1.35

The Safeway chain has a deal where for every $100 you spend on groceries, you get $.10 off per gallon. You can build these up over time. The real kicker is for every $100 you spend on gift cards, you get $.20 off per gallon. I had a $.30 credit already and needed to fill a 2005 F350 PSD before I returned it, about 20 gallons, so I took 3 five gallon cans, went and bought $400 worth of gift cards ($100 at Home Depot for some new fence pieces I need to get this week, and the rest are Christmas presents for sisters, nieces, nephews, etc.). After that, I went and filled up the PSD (about 20 gallons) and all three cans. $47.65 for 35 gallons, which is the max you can get at a time, or $100 worth, whichever is less.

The 15 in the cans goes in my CTD when it needs it (already full). The good thing is my sister who is blind and doesn't drive shops there too and has about $.80 off on her card now that I can use next time. Good thing I have a 50 gallon transfer tank and a couple spare fuel tanks from gas trucks sitting on the side yard. I should be set for diesel for a few months, since I'm burning 50% WMO.

The normal, undiscounted price is $2.45.

2.39 with discount at the murphy station near me. Most hovering around 2.50-2.60.

Gas is 1.50ish at the cheapest. I can fill up my motorcycle from empty for under $5!

Our diesel is down to $2.57 but its still not down with the price of gas. Gas is selling for $1.65 and that is the price diesel should be selling for even though LSD use to sell for 25-35 cents less then regular!

Filled up today at $2.64. That was $71. While I like that, I have seen diesel go UP .10 in the last couple days... That I dont like.

$2.45 in SA...A news article reported by Valero refinery today....

“It has been a very tough year for gasoline,” Klesse said. “Next year will be a very difficult year for gasoline. We have the economy impacting it — it's rising unemployment. People don't feel as wealthy. Price is not an issue.”
Those conditions are prompting Valero to make more distillates, including jet fuel and diesel. Valero plans for distillates to make up 40 percent of its production, he said. “Distillates are continuing to be excellent” because of strong demand around the world, Klesse said. Distillates tend to be more of the engine driving growth around the world, particularly diesel, he said.
“We're maximizing diesel where we can in our system,” Klesse said. “The economic incentive is huge to make diesel.”
