MORE Turbo whine
I drove a 2002 Dually, 4x4 with an automatic the other day. The turbo absolutely screamed. It was great. I looked under the hood, just a stock filter and no apparent mods to the air box. What have you guys done to not only get more air into the turbo, but get the turbo whine more pronounced. DOes K&N make an open element filter that I can just attach to the turbo hose?

Re:MORE Turbo whine
You can run another filter setup like a SCOTTY II, or a K&N drop in, and also take the silencer ring out of the inlet side of your turbo. Then you will hear more turbo! ;D ;D

Re:MORE Turbo whine
Removing the silencer ring won't increase HP or reduce EGTs, it will only increase the "turbo whine".

There are a lot of after market air filters that will to varying degrees also increase the "turbo whine", and help decrease the EGTs. I have a K&N 0880 cone type filter that does well. I'm at it's limits and will probably move to a Scotty II sometime in the future.

Gene

Re:MORE Turbo whine
Before you go and order that 0880 K&N make sure you get the right one. I just returned a RU0880 because it was TINY, it would have almost fit into the stock inlet pipe. I ordered a RF-1024 and will see how it works. It is a oval cone that is 10 inches long with a 4 1/2 inch inlet. I'll see how it works and I'll let you know. Does anyone know the full 0880 part number that is supposed to fit these trucks?

John
