Carl-Thanks for you recommendations relative to the TAG 3. I've removed my boost fooler, but I'm not going to be buying a Smarty Jr. I prefer to remain near stock since it pulls my 12,000# 5th wheel quite nicely.
    Thanks again John

the afe does not keep underhood air out very well. many test and ours included show lower compressor eficiency with the afe along with not being a very good filter and oiled on top of that makes it junk. the stock is very hard to beat. the silencer ring along with the nylon baffles in the elbow reduce side shear in the turbo compressor increasing efficiency. by adding a psm kit or home depot to the stock box and get the new 4"pleat filter you have the best. this gives the coolest air and best filtering and the wistling willy kits are for kids to play with. we run a fleet of dodges and tow heavy ( up to 44,000 lbs) we spent many thousand dollars to find out what works and does not. we buy our fuel a tankor load at a time usually once a month (8,400 gallons) at $35,000 a load we want mpg.

    Carl48,

You mentioned in one of my posts about the aFe cold air intake.

I put it in over the stock box almost 4 years ago now and was impressed with it initially as my spool up time seemed faster and more responsive. I've seen guys here on DTR talking about the whistling willy kits and how they're better.

What is the problem w/ the aFe cold air intake? I appreciate any info as always.
