Hey I was wondering if you all lose a bit of power running winter fuel? because it's the only thing I can think if you can see my list of mod's in my sig. it's pretty much accelleration is lost unless you get above 2500 rpm's &amp; on the highway it likes to cruise around 60'65 wheras before it would go about 80 without effort' not really bad fuel milage vs. last years winter blend but the power loss seems worse than last year, any help would be great.<br>also would a lift pump gone bad cause this much power loss? I do not think thats my prob though I had a new one but it was bad &amp; cummins still has not got it back to me so i'm pretty fed up with them now so if they ever get it back i'm gonna tell them to give me my money back &amp; i'm buying one @ napa where i can actually get a warrenty!<br>ok i'm done!<br><br>DRecu!

Sounds like your lift pump. Be careful running around on a bad pump it also cools and lubricates your injection pump, you can damage it as well.<br><br> The winter blend does reduce mileage and a bit of power as well, but not as much as you are stating. I would get a pressure gauge and check that lift pump and maybe consider going with one of those Holley Blacks like Wildcat sells.

Their is a warranty with cummins it is 100k or 12months.

yeah I know that's what it's been it for 2 months for some warrenty &amp; I really need that LP i'm calling the manager for warrenty &amp; finding out what the heck is up.<br><br>DRecu!

well I got my money back from them &amp; got a new pump at another place, truck runs better but the power is still not totally there &amp; i'm just thinking it has to be winter fuel because in the summer with all the hills over here on most of them I could keep my foot in the same position &amp; the truck would pull them like they were not there now even little hills you have to add throttle just to keep you same speed, another thing i was thinking is would a lower setting on the EZ do this? I have not checked it since I got it but it really jumps below 1500 rpm real nice then it seems to drop aff where before the EZ it would pull hard in the higher rpms. would the EZ do this or could it be a turbo problem or as i'm hoping just winter fuel.<br>BTW the truck has tons of power still just not as it used to have.<br><br>DRecu!<br>

Winter blend does take the power down. I can tell down here when I get it. I hate the stuff. Also, just plain cold weather affects the IAT which can cause the power to feel down. I'm down about 2 mpg right now with this cold weather we are having down south (14 tonight) and the winter blend. Can't wait till summer.

I still have the problem and its driving me nuts and sounds as though it may be the same problem. Well, I believe I am beginning to see this and would like to find out what it may be. <br><br>Here’s what’s happening: Between 1200 and 1800 rpm no matter where I have my foot on the accelerator, the rpm’s build up very very slow and sluggish. When it hits 1800 rpm it’s Katie bar the door. Now I know this is the point where the turbo really kicks in and the engine performs like it always has past 1800 rpm, but it’s the period before 1800 that has gotten so sluggish in the past few weeks. This is most pronounced in 3rd gear and not quite as bad in 4th and 5th. It is also more noticeable after I have been running awhile then shut down and restart.<br>************************************** ********<br><br>I noticed yesterday that during this sluggish time, sometimes my pryo goes from about 600 deg. to 1000 deg. and the RPMs are only in the 1200 to 1400 range.<br><br>This truck was totaled at 16000 and rebuilt and has been a real champ for the past year (now 30000 miles), because of this, there is no factory warrenty. Holley has had some bad valves go through and would only allow maybe 8 psi max. I did this on mine and now I get a solid 16.6 at idle, and nothign less than 13 at WOT. For some odd reason though, since it has turned cold, I'm getting 18.8-20.2 at idle, and nothing less than 16 at WOT. Not complaining though. I'd suggest getting the kit. It's a very simple install and everything comes included. Rod's a great guy and he'll answer any questions. God knows he answered a bunch of mine. Thanks Rod. ;D
