A little dissapointed

Last night I installed the Ramifier. Started the truck and there is a very noticable difference in engine noise. The engine light came on and has stayed on. I drove the truck to work this morning (25 miles) and I had a hard time telling whether there was any difference in performance at all.

Anybody out there have the same experience?

Must be a problem with the unit or the install. Did you check the pins in the connectors before you put it on (the Air Force drilled that one into my head when I was in missle maintenance)? Are all the connectors correct and tight? Any loose or unconnected wires? Never hurts to have a second pair of eyes check your work.

If all is well with the install, I would call dennis at TS performance for some assistance.

When I put the RAMifier on my truck, the change was big and right now! MPG went up a small ammount when my foot is not pressing to hard

Good luck, I think when you get it sorted out you will love this mod.

I actually installed twice, the first time I installed the orange plug backwards. THe truck would not start so I looked really closely at the pictures and figured it out. The second time the truck started right up. I was very careful about checking pins due to previous posts on the subject.

Any comments on increased engine noise and rough idling?

You must have a problem with the box (I wonder if hooking it up backwards and applying power hurt it?) Give Dennis a call.

As for rough idleing - mine idles smoother with it installed

Increased engine noise - different but not increased

Let me know what you find out.

i agree with blown32...the engine noise isn't louder...just different...and as far as the rough idleing goes...my engine runs smoother too..
my guess is that there is a wiring harness problem...either plugged in wrong...or the in cab **** is wired backwards...that wa the case on mine...once i switched the wires back...all was good

I just installed Ramifer yesterday and felt a big difference in performance.

The engine sounds different but runs fine. Idles fine no difference there.

The only thing I really noticed was the EGTs run up much faster. I can see 1,400 to 15s on full throttle runs.

Just mailed the unit back to Dennis at TS Performance, you are right , good guy to deal with. The unit doesn't sound as though it is working properly based on all the posts. Many thanks for the input.

Mike,
You'll enjoy it when you get it back. I returned an EZ in exchange for the Ramifier and like it much better than the EZ. In fact, the EZ made my engine clatter much more than the Ramifier. Also, it runs much better with the Ramifier. I'm running MT/R 305s and can seriously burn rubber (not that I can afford it) from a dead stop now.

Where are you in Houston? I'm in Seabrook. If you're ever around Kemah/Seabrook, give me a shout.

I live up in Cypress, no way I could have burned any rubber. I cannot wait.

The Ramifier changes the injector timeing and changes fuel rail pressure.

Hooks into two connectors near injectors.

Just REinstalled my Ramifier after TS updated it with the "new board". Couldn't be more pleased with the unit, and TS customer service is fantastic!
