Are you talking about high RPM's? If you rev it to 3500 it will stay there a few seconds. It has been explained as the pressure built up in the rail causing the RPM's to hang. I can tell its a lot worse with aggressive fueling.

Some highly modified trucks hang like that....It sound to me like you have a bad injector.

Mine does it also - gets worse with increased fueling. Will teach someone whos not used to a diesel not to goose it hard like in a parking lot like you can with a gasser. Turbo lights and fuel pressure hangs high for a second - their standing on the brakes and shes still lunging forward... lil bit o pucker. Nature of the beast!

Thats exactly how i feel but when the turbo boosts its like no other feeling... I also hit 43lbs the other day with BDTD on performance. In addition to that i dont remember seeing gas going to 40 lbs of boost at WOT except for Supra's with spray, people describe my truck as a jet because of turbo whine.

Well my buddy has the same year truck, straight pipe, superchip on tow and airraid intake with the 6spd and his doesnt hold RPMs. I was wondering more if it was a tranny thing because i have an auto. I took my muffler off a few weeks ago and it didnt hold as long as normal. I might be doing a muffler delete here soon, it sounded sooooo good.
