High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

I was at the dealer and the service manager told me about high performance injectors from Bosch that are approved by Dodge and Cummins. They add about 80 HP and 3-5 MPG...he said "they will pay for them selves in 20,000 miles in increased fuel savings" Anyone else heard of this or have any info no what these are. They are $1600 dollars installed and from my test drive of a truck that had them...wow...lots of git up and go...

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

What dealer did you talk to and drive this truck? I think I'd have to take a ride to see if they are worth $1600 bucks! Seems awfully high for 80 HP at the crank. A computer is $500-600 dollars.

And I would love to see how they get 3-5 MPG better. But it would be an awesome investment if those injectors performed as advertised. Thanks for the heads up. Did the dealership mention the name of the injectors or order code?

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

More info, PLEASE... If thats the case, the injectors in conjunction w/ a box would be great. Did the sales manager say how much the injectors alone are? Heck, I'll put 'em in myself.-Steve

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

If that is truly the case, I would gladly pay the extra cash for the injectors just to keep the warranty intact versus a non-approved box....even if it is not as much HP. I'll be watching this thread with interest. More details please if you have them. Hell, post the part # and I'll call DC myself.

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

Perhaps you can call the service manager and post the details. His name is Randal Wood 972-296-9800.. I would not know what to ask. This guy is quite knowledgeble...he owns a truck with a Cummins engine that is going to take a shot at the world speed record next year. Ask him about that too...

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

OK this is what I got from the service manager at Bankston Dodge:
The cost of the injectors is $1995.00. This includes installation..
The HP at the rear wheels is 85 - 93 depending on the truck
The fuel mileage gains can be seen from 2 to 2.5 miles per gallon.
The injectors are made by Bosch and are certified and have warranty for 100,000 miles
They do not affect the warranty because they are factory injectors not after-market.

The injectors are blue-printed and balanced to give you 100% efficiency with power, fuel mileage gains, and cleaner emissions.
It will not take the HP over what the truck is built for, so you don't have to worry about powertrain problems.
Trust me, it will make you smile........

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

Everyone is running around with factory Bosch injectors modified or not because right now there are no others for an 03. Call DC and you will find that installation of those injectors can be cause for denial of warranty because they ar NOT DC authorized factory injectors. This comes up every so often and falls right into the same category as dealer installed box's. This dealer is not the first one to sell EH injectors for the 03. They always say the same things... First-" the injectors are made by Bosch and have a warranty". This is true. Bosch currently is the only one making injectors for an 03 and the people who are selling these EH injectors are offering a warranty on em. Notice it is not Bosch or DC that are offering the warranty and nowhere do they say that it is. Second-"They do not affect the trucks warranty because they are factory injectors, not aftermarket". Well guess what, so are the injectors that every aftermarket performance diesel shop sells for an CR truck. They are factory injectors because there are no others but they have been modified and they do affect your warranty. Third-" it will add (fill in the blank here but the ones I have seen so far were between 50 and 100 hp injectors) 85-93 hp". This is probably true. Its easy to hone an injector to get a hp increase of that amount. Fourth- " this injector will not overtax your stock engine or drive train components". HEHEHE. This is the equivalent of installing a Diesel Dynamics stage three injector on a stock truck. Your going to see a big increase in egts because of that extra fueling. Do I even need to list all the components that are going to be seeing a lot of added stress? Cmon guys. 1995.95 will not even come close to buying a real set of stock factory injectors. Repeat after me " There are no free lunches" "there are no free lunches"...

Re:High Performance Injectors from Bosch??

More info...the dealer is getting the injectors from Dr. Performance. They blue print the injector and have them send to Bosch for certification. The dealer installs them and they are the same factory injector. That is why the dealer says they do NOT void the warantee. This is with the core exchange...I am working on getting a quote direct from Dr. Performance...I am sure the dealer is paying about $1000. for them...being the gougers they are.
