Hiccups

So I have done all the deletes and added a Smarty. I am very happy with the performance and mileage gains from the mods over the last 10,000 miles. Recently the truck has developed some hiccups. Everything seems fine. All of a sudden while cruising at highway speeds, the truck hiccups, then continues on as nothing had happened. This happens about every 100 miles or so. Any suggestions? Is this the beginning of injector problems? Transmission problems?

Might change the Filter? Is it like a stumble or miss Could be Fuel pressure low.

Mine did something similar to this before going to the ME with the Smarty. However, someone called it "turbo flutter". It would make some weird loud noise from the engine compartment (near the turbo) and could be felt in the power. It was a bit alarming and I pulled over the first time. Could not find anything. It actually sounded like it was an HVAC issue but the power pulses made me think otherwise. It did not do it often, but did it a couple times on the tow up and then back. Towed for the first time recently with the ME and deletes and did not experience it again yet.

All of the fluids and filters have recently been changed. It is like a power outage but not electrical for a split second. All of the gauges and lights appear fine. I would think that if it was low rail pressure, a CEL would occur.

I don't believe that it is a Smarty thing as this has only just started happening.

Yes, this sounds similar to my understanding. Mine did it on one round trip (the way up and then on the way back) while towing. It was intermittent and only did it on these 2 occasions on/off for maybe a 10 minute span of time.

Oddly, when I was at my desintation, I drove around unloaded for a week and 200 miles and didn't have this issue. It did pop up on the way back though.

I had recently installed my CAI and thought there was something wrong with it or the boost tube (which I never touched) had come off or even the intake to the turbo had come off. Nothing found.

Since then I've done the ME and towed again and haven't experienced it.

Wonder if it had something to do with the EGR or cooler. I had the EGR tube blocked and was running the Smarty S version software..., everything plugged in.
