Help Transmission problem
Yesterday I left my apt complex and out of the blue my transmission went into limp mode. i had the codes read at a transmission shop and it came up with a 3-4 shift selinoid. code p0753 and a p1693 dtc. the transmission has never had any problems always shifted smooth. Being I am a Disabled veterain I cant afford the cost of a rebuild so im hoping it truley is just what the code says. and if so how hard is it to replace these? any help or suggestions on where to start would be greatly apreceated

I honestly dont know much about the older 2nd gen trucks. If it were me I would try posting this in the 2nd gen threads or posting in the help section. I dont believe the selenoid is a hard fix.

You might give James at James Trans Tech a call. He seems to be good with diesel transmissions. He did a great job building mine. He knows his stuff.

well after a day of diagnostics with my handy multimeter it turned out that the 3-4 shift solinoid had a broken wire. replaced it with a new mopar part for 125 now its good as new the transmission shop wanted 500 dollars to fix it. what a ripoff it took me an hour and a half. how is that 500 dollars at a trans shop?
