Help?
I have 2 small problems with my truck.
1) It leaks a little fuel from what appears the bottom of the injection pump when its idleing. I think this is the cause of my problem, but dont know what to look for. The problem is if I park the truck faced uphill for any length of time (overnight) its hard to start. Park faced down hill it starts right up. What could this be? It also seems that when you hit WOT it sorta lays down on me. The throttle response if great and has tons of power, but if you floor it, it just sorta flattens out. 2) My dome light wont turn off. I have already replaced the headlight switch. I can hear a relay turning off after about 20 seconds and the light dims slightly but it stays on. Any ideas on this? |

Could the leak be the banjo bolts on side of pump? Each should have 2 gaskets and are different size. I suppose the injector line fittings at pump could also leak and tighten required. Gonna have to get personal with it to find leak.
What have you screwed with on engine/pump in last 6 months? Return side air leak is general cause of hard uphill/ quick downhill starts.

I have checked all the lines for leaks. It seams that the fuel is leaking from between the block and the injection pump from what I can see. Is there a seal or gasket back there on the pump that could be leaking? I am new to diesels so I am kind of stumped looking at this thing.
