HE351 Turbo question

I'm starting to shop for a used HE351CW for my 1st Gen and I'm noticing there are very few ads for this model. There are lots of HE351VEs or VGT's. What's the difference between the CW and the VE/VGT? They seem to come with model years 05 through 07, but how could you tell which one came with which?

HE351cw= 04.5-06 from 5.9L HO Cummins (325hp/66ft-lb). Wastegated. This is the one you want.

HE351VE/VGT=07-present 6.7L Cummins. Variable vane exhaust turbine. Not as simple to control boost, but can be done with just a wastegate actuator and some tuning.

IDK, as long as it was a 5.9L High Output.

Was the 5.9 HO the standard engine that came in the 04.5-07.5 trucks?
