i run that stretch of highway all the time and have ran it in both a dodge and chevy. hauling the same size loads, the duramax couldnt handle it like my dodge, the chevy didnt overheat but it cant pull the duramax is not that good of a motor compared to the ctd

Yea, I'd be pretty ticked off if that was my truck. "Its just an old Dodge, ain't no big thing..." pretty funny stuff!!!!
But hey, for only $1000.00 you can get a kit and you can fix the issue yourself!!!! Chevy... ![]()

Durmax Towing
We have had about the same results. My company has 4 Durmax trucks. When driving them with light loads they run very well. But hook up a heavy trailer and head up the mountains and you will wish you are in a Dodge. They are also prone to going into limp mode at the worst time.

People like that cause accidents by going 63 mph in an 80 mph zone...
In the hammer lane none the less... ![]()

thats been my experience too. I drive a 07 duramax repo truck. Works great, with less weight. If I have to pull a big truck or repo an rv it really really notices the weight. My cummins ofcourse likes being hooked to the heavy stuff.
Seems like once it goes over about 10000 lbs.....is the time for a different truck.

I think the reason he was in the left (hammer) lane was so that he could not draft the dodge and give the chev any advantage.
Do I agree with people being in the left lane? No. To prove a point on video? You bet, especially if its to get a manufacturer to correct a known issue. That's just like the Chevy issues up here when they went to rear disk brakes on the their trucks. If you drove them on gravel roads, it would chew up the calipers and disks. Chevy's solution was "do not drive your 4 wheel drive trucks on gravel roads". Good video and interesting that there was NO smoke coming out of that dodge at all.
