Good Milage with the Edge EZ

Just to let yall know that we have had several custmers come back and tell us they have seen a 3-4 MPG increase on setting 3 with the Edge EZ module. One of which was an '04 with about a grand ticked off! We did an AFE Intake and EZ Module. This is not first hand, but almost all have said they have seen an increase!

Re:Good Milage with the Edge EZ

Sounds high to me, I have seen maybe 1-2 increase. But the computer is off by 4-5. So make sure they are not just reading the computer, I have had people tell me that they gained 4-5 and then tell me they are just going by the computer, they don't feel so good after I explain it to them.

My computer was dead on before I did the EZ.

I could be wrong but adding power and getting better fuel economy is the best of both worlds, right? I'll be happy to get that 1-2 mpg increase.

Re:Good Milage with the Edge EZ

Are those mpg reports from the overhead or are they computed with pen & pencil :-

Remember the ez screws with the reporting on the overhead display...

Re:Good Milage with the Edge EZ

I agree with MoparMudder and rjweiss. My overhead was dead on before the EZ. Now I'm about 4-5 mpg off. My mileage actually seems to have gone down! > I made a short trip this weekend and the overhead was telling me that I was getting almost 23 mpg at 65 mph. When I calculated it manually I figured 18.

Re:Good Milage with the Edge EZ

Yeah...i kinda figured about the overhead computer. BUT the one guy that is raving about it, i know for a fact takes his milage with a pin and paper. BUT i am not going to go and tell him to average it out over a month! haha...but like i said, its second hand info, but most i have talked to say it increased milage to some degree. Think that is a better way of putting it! So i dont start thoes "I have a Cummins that get 50 miles to the gallon!!!!" stories! Im out!

Re:Good Milage with the Edge EZ

I have an 03 HO auto can I just put on the Edge EZ and the AFI air intake and call the job done (no 4" exhaust and gauge pack)?
I am new to this sport
I tow a 7000 lb trailer once and a while and drive around town.

Re:Good Milage with the Edge EZ

Let me start by saying, its always good idea to run gauges. Even if you run stock! BUT as far as i know, correct me if im wrong, this box only modifyed timing and injection length. Not fueling. This, in and of its self, will keep EGT's down to a safer level for moderate towing. BUT, like i said, its a good idea to have gauges no matter what. The AFE intake is a good idea as well. Exhaust is a good idea if you plan on upgrading later to bigger and better. Or if you are looking for a little better milage and power. SO in this case, you SHOULD be safe with the box with no other mods but spend the money for the gauges. It gives you peace of mind that your 30K+ rig (5k motor) stays in good shape! MY 2!

Check out Magnaflows exhaust. Butt simple to install and very high quality......also the price is right! If you are not going to go atomic on the bomming, it should work just fine for ya.....reason: they use a 3.5" down pipe since most of the custs dont go with big boxes like the Comp or FMS where a 4" down pipe would be of better use. Huh....guess that was 3 cents!

You are wrong : the Edge EZ only raises the rail fuel pressure. It does nothing to pusle width or timming. In my opinon DO NOT run the box with out a EGT guage if you are going to tow.

The new Edge Juice that is coming out adjust the pulse width and timming. It also can be gotten with an in-cab controller that will give you EGT, Boost and other things.
