This is getting old

OK, went to retard my timing in hoped to fix or at least reduce my turbo lag.
Guess what
The pump is at the limits of its travel in the slots. (away from the head)
Short of removing the front cover, is there anyway to tell if the gear has been jumped a tooth?

Pull the oil fill tube and use a rifle bore light and an inspection mirror? Or maybe a fiber-optic sewer cam?

Heck the timing marks are tough to see with the cover off. They usually have years of oil grime built up on them. You can try the mirror and light thing, but pulling the cover would be much easier.

I've had mine off so many times in the last couple months I can have it open in under 15 minutes.

at least youll get in there to check the KDP and Killer Bolts... and carefully install a new crank seal.

I took off my grill, intercooler and radiator to get into mine and skip the tooth. The AC condenser will sit off to the side (for the most part). Really its easy to take all of that stuff out to be able to get right in there. The hardest part on mine was the bottom radiator hose clamp.

Yes, a good time to do the seal, it is seeping a bit.
I really want to know why this thing does what it does when it shouldn't.
At least it's drivable.
