Gangs Using Different Tactics

SITUATION..
While driving on a rural end of the roadway on Thursday morning, I saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it.
For whatever reason, I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination, I called the Canton PD and they were going to check it out. But, this is what the Police advised even before they went out there to check....

"There are several things to be aware of ... gangs and thieves are now plotting different ways to get a person (mostly women) to stop their vehicle and get out of the car.

"There is a gang initiation reported by the local Police Department where gangs are placing a car seat by the road...with a fake baby in it....waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the abandoned baby.

"Note that the location of this car seat is usually beside a wooded or grassy (field) area and the person -- woman -- will be dragged into the woods, beaten and raped, and usually left for dead. If it's a man, they're usually beaten and robbed and maybe left for dead, too.

DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!!! DIAL 9-1-1 AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW, BUT DON 'T EVEN SLOW DOWN.
Even if you are armed there maybe more then one hidding nearby.
Oh yea, about the EGGS:

"IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSHIELD, DO NOT STOP TO CHECK YOUR CAR, DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPERS AND DO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS MIXED WITH WATER BECOME MILKY, AND BLOCK YOUR VISION UP TO 92.5%, AND YOU ARE THEN FORCED TO STOP BESIDE THE ROAD AND BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE CRIMINALS.

THIS IS A NEW TECHNIQUE USED BY GANGS, SO PLEASE INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.

THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES AND THESE ARE UNSAVORY INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES TO GET WHAT THEY WANT."

Please talk to your loved ones about this. This is a new tactic being used. Please be safe.

I would have stopped and checked....

Little did they know I would have been palming my Glock 27

It would have gotten me back to the truck, where my Marlin 336SS 30-30 resides under the back seat.

Thanks for the warning. That's tough not to stop and check. It's a baby seat for goodness sakes! I stop for worn out dogs that have been dumped on the highway.

That didn't happen to me but it did a relative of mine, since I would have stopped. I did have similar experience once driving cross country. Lucky for me I had my German Shepperd with me, I stopped to read road map, no GPS back then. My dog started growling and as I looked up three guys are walking toward my truck from out of the darkness. I put truck in gear and took off. If it wasn't for my dog that night I really think I would not be here today.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Tupperware it may be, but my G23 was bought when I was 18, put a recorded 10k rounds through it before I went to the police academy. It was my duty weapon. Put 5k rounds through it during the 2 week firing range session. I know I have close to 100k rounds through that pistol and had one stovepipe. I honestly think that it was an ammo error too because the powder had a funny burn smell.

That round was fired during the academy on the range. The ammo was surplus department supplied. No telling where it came from.

We have a big gang problem up where I live. When you see cars driving around at night with no headlights on you don't dare flash your lights at them

No ******* you about the choice of sidearms (much)

The Glock has proven itself over time to be a fine choice.
Just tried one and decided I liked my 1911(s) better.
Just picked up a Ruger GP100 in .357 to use as a "tractor gun".

Oh trust me, my 1911 is my favorite of all. But the dept wouldnt let us carry a single action cocked and locked. So Glock it was.

I have a little bit bigger Tupperware container...my Model 20.

True story...

Home invasion tactics of a certain race was to send a young innocent looking girl to the door of the home of some senior folks. People as old as Lary or maybe not that old. LOL
Back to the story. The girl would tell them that her car broke down and she needed to use the phone...of course most folks would invite her in and the gang would storm their place...beat them and steal all they could.

They tried this in Calgary when I lived there. My neighbor Bob had diabetes and he was older. Young girl rings the doorbell.
He answered, she told her story and he had her by the throat with his tupperware aimed at her head while his wife called 911.

The reason I mentioned his diabetes was because he had had an insulin reaction earlier that day and this same girl helped him into the house. He was still coherent enough to hear her say; "We should come back later, he's drunk and will pass out."

He thought about not answering the door and letting them break in...then let them have it...but he was too angered and did not want his wife exposed to what he had in mind. She was still upset with him for what he did but the home invasions in our area stopped.

True dat...no snopes.

A Rem 1187 super mag is nice to have around the house too.

In reality, everything mentioned here has happened. The baby doll in the car seat rouge has been used successfully, but the car seat was left in a shopping cart in a parking lot. Other tactics include a note under the wiper blade stating something like "I hit your car today and damaged the right front fender. Here's my name etc etc etc." The natural reaction is to get back out and look right then. When you do, you're toast.

Sheeple (a portmanteau of "sheep" and "people") is a term of disparagement in which people are likened to sheep, a herd animal. The term is used to describe those who voluntarily acquiesce to a suggestion without critical analysis or research. They undermine their own individuality and may willingly give up their rights.

Nothing looks as sweet in a holster as a 1911 with the hammer back
