First Impressions of PS62-14

1. A little slow on the bottom end about 1/2 second slower boost

2. Mid rang pulls the same as stock

3. upper rpms pulls better

4. less boost at cruise

5. Heat still goes to 1200 on empty truck, same as stock and 100 degrees warmer at cruise

6. Max boost with my set up is 31 lbs, 1lb less then stock.

7. allot more smoke, I can now smoke on free way from cruise if I step on it.

I'm very worried about towing because I was told that I would be alot cooler. I don't see It. What gives?

Mark

You definately need more boost. With smary and injectors I can hit 40psi. I also don't think that you've got enough fuel to spool a 14. I'm thinking a 12 mighta been a better charger for you. I'm also thinking that a small box like an EZ or smarty will help you out. They advance the timing and the timing really helps EGT's. I lost 200* of egt's just by adding timing to a stock truck.

The truck has a catcher ( same as smarty on #9)
I tow heavy 13,000, so thats why I have the 14 which the recommended. I'm planning on adding a TST in the near future, but was told that this set up could work fine.

I'd say you need more boost then.

With smarty on 7 and 155hp sticks and 40psi of boost I can tickle 1250-1300* at 100mph.

I was told that the waist gate is set at 40 and that I should expect lower boost numbers than the stock set up. Is this correct?

i have the super phat shaft. turned the screw on the elbow in with my setup can spike 55 and hold 40-45 till fuel cut. i think my temps are cooler everywhere except crusing on the highway. before the injectors. i had less boost than i had with the stock turbo. but felt like more power

They wanted you to buy the Super b/c it has some extra exhaust housing work to help with spool up, i think and its more $$$.

Second day

Truck runs 200* hotter than stock! Empty!!

Called II, They had me check the shaft and clamp off the waste gate hose. They said that this turbo should produce close to 40 lbs of boost on a stock truck and with my mods all I can see is a fast spike to 30 and a slow rise to 33 as the temps climb to 1400*. I'm afraid to hook up the 6000 lb trailer and leave.

I'm beginning to think that someone does not know what they're talking about.

Any one have any suggestions? Please

One person pm'd me and told me he went through these same issues, he said I should of got a 57-12 because of the trucks gearing and low stall converter.
