factory rear block questions.

My truck has 3" lift blocks, or there abouts, I haven't actually measured them. And yes, my truck sits level with them. It seems most guys can run the 2" skyjacker front lift springs because the rear sits so much higher.
Do most trucks really come with a 6" block with some trucks like mine being an exception or had a PO done something to my truck before I got it so it sits level?

3" blocks with how many leafs?

My '91 has a 6" block with 6 leafs plus 1 contact helper...7 leafs.

The 7 leafs add up to 3" I believe.

IIRC mine from the top down is, 3" leafs, 6"block, 4"axle tube, 1" bottom plate and washers and 1 1/2" for the nuts and a few extra threads.

All adds up to 15.5" U-bolts

Now my '90 has a whopper spring package, like 11 leafs.

Some 91's had both the 3's and some had the 6's. These are the W trucks. My 89 sits level and both the 92 and 93 have a higher rear.

My 92 looks like it has a 4" block in the rear. With 33" tires it seems pretty tall really for bein stock height, a lot of people hop in my truck and ask if i have a lift.

I have yet to see a non-intercooled W series truck with 6" blocks. It was around this time they changed from 3" blocks.

There are 2 bone stock '89's within 5 miles of me that both have the 6". The owners bought them and ordered them as a pair. They actually had them home and on the road in the fall of '88.

mine would be sagging in the rear but it's got a matching sag in the front too so it sits just about perfectly level

I need new suspension all around in a BAD way. If I do anything with the suspension I'm just not sure what to do. I'd like to get rid of the block all together. Maybe drop shackles and a new leaf pack too or something.
