Truck starts just fine in warm weather but as soon as it hit 30 it starts getting harder to start, once it hits 20 and I dont plug it in it cranks but wont fire right away, on about the third try the batteries start getting weak. It usually fires just intime before they die. Would new batteries help this problem? I plug it in where I can but when im at my girls house thats not an option ( theives would steal my cord) so I gotta do something. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Matt

My question is which tire brand would you guys recommend. If I'm going to spend the big bucks, I'd like to get the best deal I can. I don't do any offroading. Thanks

Can pull fuel from tank or get prime

Ok, I've read myself stupid(or smarter depending on which way you look at it) and still don't have an answer to my problem. I can't get fuel to pull from the tank. Truck is a 1996 12V auto 4x4.

Here's the situation: First, this truck ran perfect until I replaced the unit on top of the fuel tank because it was only picking up the top 6-7 gallons of fuel... no big deal. Put the tank back in and couldn't get the truck to run longer than 2-3 minutes. Long story short, I can only get it running if I fill the fuel filter with fuel and crack the lines to bleed. Starts up rough just like it should then runs for a few minutes until it has used what it can out of the fuel filter. Here's what I've learned from there:

- Can't seem to get the primer button to get fuel up to the engine. Not hearing the squirt no matter how long I push that **** button.
- I checked the lines on the unit in the tank to make sure there is no plugged lines. All is well.
- I put light air pressure on the feed line back at the tank with the fuel filter off just to see what what would happen. It appears the lines are clear. I was able to get some air noise up at the engine.
- When started, I AM getting fuel returning to the tank. Took the return line off just to see and fuel was flowing back to the tank.
- Pushed on the primer button while the truck was running and killed the engine after a hand full of pumps.
- Can ALWAYS get the engine running again with fuel filter filled and cracking injector lines. Always runs for a couple minutes then starves out.
- Checked the line connections on top of the tank and both seem to be sealing fine.

Like I said, this truck ran perfect before I did the fuel tank work. With that problem it would run out of fuel, I could fill it up, prime it, then it would start every time. It wasn't until I had the tank out that this started.

I'm not an expert on these pumps, but it seems the truck wouldn't run if the pump was bad. I'm very mechanical, so talk to me about specifics and details.

IDEAS?

Thank in advanced

2002 3500 dually rims

Anybody know what year rims fit the 2002 3500 dually ? I have been told that the 2000, 2001 and 2002 all fit - but don't know about any of the other years especially the real old ones.

So if anyone knows for sure what will fit safely, I would like to know what they are.

I have been offered some really old rims in pretty good condition, but they are off 1977 Dodge dually and probably too old. Might be worth a look if they will fit, though I kind of doubt that they will.

Thanks

Hey guys , I just picked up a 95 2nd gen motor with 152k , its from AZ so no rust on this engine . I'm using it in a suburban I am building . The engine is a original auto trans .
I have a dodge NV4500hd with all the mods and upgrades mated to a 205 .
13" southbend clutch , presure plate .
I'm running a dana 60 up front and a 14 blot in the rear ... both are out of a m1008 military with 4.56's , not sure if that combination is going to be too high with a 36" or 38" tires .
I have 2 other cummins powered trucks and am pretty happy with the stock performance , this truck is going to be the toy .
Not sure from going from a automatic to the stick if I should tweak the motor a little more for the combination I plan on running .
Thats the motor before there pulling it , I talked them into leaving it in the frame and just ship it in the cradle.
Any thoughts are welcome .

I can get Hankook ATM RF10 for $780 OTD.

I can also get Bridgestone Revo 2 for $840 OTD ($100 mail in rebate from America's Tire).

The Hankooks won't qualify for the rebate because it expires before I can get them.

I do 99% highway driving on dry pavement and occasionally tow my 10000lb 5th wheel. Which would you get?

I was just told by a well known diesel shop west of Austin our 24 valve trucks do not need adjustment. In fact tech said it would be a waste of money as they see the trucks "all day long" and have not seen any out of wack.

Furthermore a bastrop dodge dealer said they could adjust them while i waited....thought the motor needed to be cold to do so.

All i know is it sounds clanky and my mileage and throttle response suck bi time with 242K on it.

Confused on this now because i thought the manual (not that service manuals are gospel but...) gives direction to this issue as a maintenance item.

Also one dealer wants 245.00 and the other 149.00 to adjust them. I have not done this but seen the thread with great directions and it doesn't seem to bad....maybe someone in Bastrop or Austin can give some insight on shops etc.

I have a 2003 Dodge with manuel transmission that im having trouble with and can not find any one that knows the fix problems are.
1. Loss of fuel pressure for a split second, will go from 15000 psi to 0 and pick back up in a split second
I have replaced both fuel pumps lift pump and high pressure pump, Checked the injectors replaced the O rings and carbon dams.
engine scan does not show any codes at all. And still having the problem.

Has any body heard of this problem and if so what is the fix???

Thanks,
