1995 Dodge 2500 Cummins headed for chopping block

Hello, Everyone.

Just have a question to pose to the group.

I was involved in an accident with my 95 Dodge 2500 Cummins, and my insurance company wants to write off my truck. The other party was at fault.

My insurance company is only offering $4000 as truck's value, based on the body being dinged up and having 525,000 km. The damage is the left corner of the bumper, grill cracked and headlight/signal light on that side.

The truck had been performance tuned by Andy at Unlimited Performance, bought the truck from him when it had 407, 000 kms on it. The engine is presently pushing about 350 to 400 hp, and approximately 700 ft lbs of torque, with the transmission beefed up to handle the torque. I had to replace the Dana 70 rear end when a bearing gave out, so it now has a Dana 80 in it.

I would like to keep the truck, however, the only option, my insurance company is offering is to the pay out. They have deemed the truck a total loss, even tho I know that I can get another 300K out of the drive train, with normal maintenance.

Has anyone else been through the process or know anyone that help clarify the process, since I'm not getting any information from my insurance company. Not that I'm surprised on that point.

Thanks,

Alvin

I'm having issues with my trailer plug and lights and think it might be the Integrated power module that is bad. I'm currently getting no signal for the Left trailer light and noticed last night when troubleshooting it I could hear the relay clicking under the hood for the right side but not for the left side. I also have no constant 12V on the trailer plug checked the fuse, seemed OK but replaced it anyhows. Also having an issue with the brake controller, not seeming to get signal for that and the brake controller seems to be functioning OK. I have a second brake controller, thought about swapping it out but thought this might just all be related. Did a TON of reading online and I think this all points to the IPM. If thats the case, I might just go and install a POWER MODULE like a lot of other guys did and run my 12V direct from the battery and run another wire from the brake controller. This sound right at all????

Anything I should look for to find a potential fix?

How do you remove the tail gate? I am getting a truck camper and need to remove it. The directions in the owners manual I looked at online do not appear to be correct.

1. It says to lift up on the right side of the tailgate and slide it to the right to free the left side pivot and then remove it.

Tried to do this and the right side does not move when lifted.

#1.....Left rear door lock does not work with the remote. Will not go up or down. Replaced the lock mechanism and no change. A report states to take the instrument cluster and cross to wires to see if the door lock works. I guess this is because at 15 mph the locks go down. If this works, the instrument cluster is bad. Any one had an issue like this? Cost?

#2.....Passenger seat has lost up and down motion and tilt adjustment. Looks like the only fix is to replace the entire electric seat tracking with the motor. ? ?? Dealer wants $570.00 for the tracking.

abs and brake light on - intermittently. Speedo works so its not the rear sensor. Changed the brake light switch - no love!

Just got scanned - code 21 right front abs sensor. Called the dealer and got part number 5015882aa. Same number for left or right front sensor.

Now the question - are both front sensors the same? Wire length etc?

Sound right guys?

Im gonna clean it and see, but want to be ready to order the (correct) part

Thanks in advance.

PS - something funny - the scan also said i should replace the lift pump. I just smiled at the mechanic - :)
