I've got a '02 2500 with 3.55 gears and I'm looking to get 4.10s. I'm going to be putting on 37s and the 3.55s will not be much fun when that happens. No gear whine and the LSD works great. I'm just wondering if anyone in the DFW area has 4.10s and is looking for 3.55s and would be willing to just swap axles? I have the Dana 80 rear and would be willing to trade for either the 80 or a 70 as I won't be towing very heavy. I'm looking to trade straight across and have a shop to put both trucks on lifts to make life easier.

I ground my plate to #100 specs, and reduced the boost signal and now instead of occasionally seeing 900 degrees under very hard pulls, I can tap the throttle and see 1150 in a heartbeat. The plate seemed awfully far forward (almost all the way) when I opened the top. I put it back to the same position after grinding the plate. I'm thinking that when my governor spring kit gets here, maybe I should move the plate back a bit.... maybe center it. What say you?

08+ steering upgrade complete - someone double check my work?

(Probably should've put this in the drivetrain forum, sorry!)

I just finished the 08+ upgrade. Everything went smooth, except for that darn pitman arm and only ordering 1, not 3, tie rod nuts (had to go to the dealership today).

Setup with about 1/16" toe in.

Just took it for a test drive and love the response it gives. Small steering inputs now translate to movement of the truck in the direction of the input. With the old setup, you could wiggle the wheel back and forth and the response was very weak (combo of the Y setup as well as old tre's).

I've read the warnings of making sure the tie rod end is to be level with the steering arm. I took some pictures below of all my tie rod ends, can someone confirm they look good?

Appreciate your input!

Frustrated with our Hemi/ looking for another vehicle

Afternooner, DTR.
The wife and I were discussing how we are frustrated with the fuel mileage her hemi mega gets... it's an 08 1500 mega. We love the truck, plenty of room and all that, but it gets 15 on the highway if we're lucky and driving nicely...

I have a CAI on it with a TB spacer, good plugs, all synthetic, new tires, and exhaust... not sure what else I can do besides a programmer, but I hear they don't help much anyway. The truck has the most recent flash from the dealer as well.

So... we're looking at something that will lug our three kids around, plus have room for all kind of crap that is associated with having a dog, cat, rabbit, and the three monkeys we call kids. I like the Buick Enclave, but the price tag and fuel mileage is a turn off. The TDI vehicles in a SUV/Crossover offer only slightly better fuel mileage, but for a 55k+ price tag.

Any suggestions? We owe about 8K on the truck, it's in good shape... I'm thinking that we are just going to keep it... I'm eyeballing the 1500 diesels coming out at the end of the year, but I'm also worried that they'll have a 55k price tag too.

Just thinking out loud, fishing for thoughts.

Hi Guys

I have a VanAken engine controller on my 1999 Ram 3500.

While the truck is real peppy, which I don't think I need so much.

I would like to remove the VanAken control unit and return my tune to stock for fuel mileage purposes.

Can I simply unplug the unit without any further work etc.

Cheers

so new to this forum and was looking for some help on getting my setup dialed in. I love making power but this truck is still a daiy driver/ tow rig for me so I need to keep it that way Last year I did ta p pump and now looking to change around my turbo setup cuz the 35 thats on there is leaking oil bad and filling my intercooler and piping with oil. Im going to run a new 35 i picked up from a buddy and a ht3b. Pretty basic setup for twins from the research I have done but not looking to really make more hp then that set is capable of. Right now I have the stock 24v injectors in there and they do pretty good but with this new twin set up im curious as to what I should run for an injector and what pop off pressure and still get good mileage out of my truck.
thanks for you help

My Derale underbed cooler rotted out after only about 5 years. The fan locked up about 3 years ago. I took it to a radiator shop I use but after trying to patch it he said it was too far gone.

Curious what you guys are using succesfully. The Derale was a 1/2" plate design. Hate to drop that many $$ again if thats all it's going to last. Money would be better spent on a double deep pan instead unless you guys have a better solution?

Thanks,

Just got this code and want to know where to start looking for a problem. I know its a TCC malfunction of some sort.

The transmission seems fine and shifts good and T.C. locks up normal. I wouldn't know there is a problem if the light wasn't on.

I just rebuilt this transmission myself over 10,000 miles ago and it's been flawless until now with this code.

I replaced:

All clutches.....full rebuild
New torque converter from REVMAX
New valve body from Mopar
Installed complete shift kit
Mag Hytec trans pan
Installed Overdrive software with MiniMax
Installed new sensors on outside of transmission

This transmission has not been abused. Easy driving.

I was towing a 28' enclosed trailer with a race car and four wheeler in it when light came on.......60 mile trip. Didn't push it at all.

**First time I've towed anything with it since rebuild and the check engine light comes on**
