No it wasn't cheap...I think I paid about $1700 for the front bumper paint, 3M, and the rhino on both front and rear. The rhino for the rockers and running boards came to about $600 I believe. So almost a $2500 price tag. Ouch!
I couldn't do white rhino on the front bumper because it doesn't stick to plastic. And as for the chrome, they had to rough it up with sand paper first.
Yeah...it BETTER hold up for that price!!!

It looks good! I was sure hoping that you were going to guinea pig the WHITE linex though. I went and talked to my friend that owns the local body shop about it and basically he just told me bring the truck to him and we would figure something out.

Yrs back I did my 01 white dually with black line-X...wheel well lips, rockers, door sills and bed. It faded and looked real aged in 2 yrs. Friend of mine did Rhino on his white 04 when he got it new and it does look a bit faded but like new compared to the Line-X application.
I have a silver stretched mega dually and it came with a spray in bedliner with the stretch work. What a joke, its peeling and lifting all over the bed. I have to get it all off of there and then I will Rhino it, the sills, rockers and wheel well lips black. MEGA-Mega needs some TLC.
How difficult is it to get this old liner off the bed? I was thinking it might go quicker if I put some heat to it and gently worked it off but still would take a few days.

Yeah Al's truck bed liner looks like it comes out pretty good and is supposed to hold up if it's done right. Heres a link to Cummins724 thread on it http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/ac...step-step.html. I'm probably gonna be trying it out in a couple months on the deck of my buddy's buggy.

Personally I think Line- X looks better seems to hold up better as well. I've had 3 trucks line-x'd and wouldn't do anything else. Black rockers/ bumpers, sill plates would be effin awesome. If i could afford it.

I went to Line-X here in Edmonton and:
- they wanted $1250 CAD to do black rockers...said it costs this much because of time prepping the doors (so that the material doesn't get where it's not supposed to).
- they also told me that the chrome on my bumpers would have to first be sandblasted off at some other shop
- they said the white colour would turn a yellow tinge after a year, and there would be an extra $200 charge for white.
- I asked about including the inside sills on my doors (before I realized that there really isn't much of one to do), and they said $200 extra per door...again, "because of the extra prep work"
Not really impressed with their business and way of dealing with customers (bunch of young guys, and a customer had come in to complain while I was there), I went over to Rhino Linings.
Rhino guys told me:
- that my rockers would be $850...so $400 cheaper than the other guys. I asked why so much cheaper and they said they had been doing it for so many years that they're faster and more experienced.
- they told me white would yellow a bit in about 3 years time, but also told me on the other hand, it's paintable too
- as for my chrome bumpers, they did NOT need to be sandblasted, but merely are scuffed up with sandpaper - which they do for you as part of the $200 cost to do a bumper
- also told me a lifetime warrany on everything
So now is my dillema: black? white? on what parts? I expect to be repainting my truck within the 3 years...black can look good, but too much can make your rig look "industrial", like a plain-Jane workhorse.
But regardless... it pays to shop around!

I've had spray on liners in five pickup beds in the past 10 years, Rhynolining seemed to show the most chaulkiness from the sun, and I took the occasional chunk out of it with a sharp part. The Rhynoliner people said they had a UV protectant they could spray on, but it was another $100. The factory spray on liner (similar to Linex) in the Titan was great, but could be chipped if something was dropped on it. I don't know what brand is in the Dodge, but it is similar to Linex and is holding up well.
Eventually I envision black or charcoal liner like the OP's pics above, possibly with some powerwagon flares, black or charcoal factory wheels, and custom bumpers.

Sorry, been busy for a while...
My rhino has never peeled in the back of my truck. It's been there for over three years and subject to oil, gas, and diesel - and a tree stump grinder with tungsten carbide teeth.
It depends on who/how they spray it prep it. I'm sure that this fact plays a HUGE factor in if it peels or not. That's why I never went with Line-X. The guys at that shop (the only one here in Edmonton) were just a bunch of newbes with not very much experience. The Rhino shop guy had been doing it for over a decade.
As for "fading", you can simply get a bottle of the stuff Rhino sells to shine it back up to make it look like new again. No big deal on that one. They say just don't get it on your paint!
Yes, I was going to do white Rhino, but when I realized it would look funny with my bumpers, I thought to just get the upper bumper done in white rhino. But then I found out you can't Rhino plastic very well. So end of that story.
And now I think I am going to get my truck repainted with Lexus' Starfire Pearl White...come fall...but that's a new thread...
