easy enough...

Changed the oil in the Cummins yesterday. Switched from Valvoline premium blue 15w-40 to Valvoline synthetic 5w-40. It doesn't build pressure any faster, but the rear main seems to have quit leaking.

How does thinner and molecular perfect oil stop leaks ??

Usually synthetic will leak where dino had not. I wouldn't count on a previously leaky rear main to stop until you put a new seal in.

It doesn't leak unless it runs long enough to get up to operating temp. The 2 mile trip to work, it doesn't. At least not enough to leave a puddle.
