DTR Chapter News

As many of you have already heard, we are in the process of starting up Local Chapters of the DTR.

Here are a few of the ideas we are currently working on for the Chapters;

1. The Emergency Assistance Program.
As a new member fills out his application, there is a box he can check if he wishes to join this unique program. Our goal is to comprise a list of volunteers from the membership rolls that you can take with you any time you travel. Should you have a break down or other mishap along your journey, you can call a member near your location who is willing to help you through your problem. It could be actual mechanical help or pointing you in the right direction for the best service in that area.
We are very excited about this program, I think it says a great deal about the people who are the DTR.

2. Emergency Disaster Teams.
We have all seen the need to help our neighbor when the worst of situations strike. From Hurricanes to Flood, Earthquake to Forest Fire many of our members have already donated time and their trucks to help out. The emergency use of 4x4 trucks in Blizzard conditions is an all too familiar way that members help their neighbors.
We hope to have many Volunteers come forward for this team as well.

3. Trucks For Tot's
A variation on an old theme, but we think a great way to help out the less fortunate children in our areas. This could also include food drives and other note worthy charitable functions. DTR is about family values as well.

The Chapters main theme still remains about having fun. Meeting in parking lots to compare mod's or having a pot luck picnic with the family's at a local park are just as important. Setting up sled pulls and other motor competition are also projects we can all benefit from.

Please take a moment and think about Starting up a Chapter in your area, or contact us and we will try to point you toward one in your area.
Wonderful times are ahead for us all!.

Can't seem to get a lot of people in this area to get together, guess I'll have to join one far away somewhere. Most in this area are too greedy.

I've got the paperwork for the VA chapter, just seeing if there is enough interest to send it in.

Re:DTR Chapter News

There you go Ryan a first contact has been established. Each person you talk to about this will have friends that they will talk to and thats how interest get's generated. Looks to me like you are off and running now, all it takes is 1 first contact and it get's easier each time after that.

Lary

I am interested in joining a chapter or starting one if there is interest in Maine. I am in the Navy stationed at Brunswick NAS. There is now 2 CTD's in my squadrons parking lot.

I believe a great deal of interest will evolve in this project once we get rolling.

If you decide to set one up send an email to ncdtr@frontiernet.net and I will hook you up with a startup packet. I will post any news of people interested in your area as I get it. Also as the new chapters form I will list their location and that will help people looking for one as well.

This is going to be a great time for all of us!
Re:DTR Chapter News

Chapters are not limited to Dodge Cummins Diesels!

While our site here is called the Diesel Truck Resource we are not limiting the Chapters to CTD's only.
Most of us have friends with other brands, and many have more than one vehicle in their families. So it is natural for us to share information on all makes and models.

The idea behind the Chapters is to help each other learn about our vehicles and have some fun while we are doing it. I have no doubt as we grow larger we will have a need for an area here where Other makes as well as gasser's can ask their questions and discuss topics relating to them.
Great! That is exactly what we want! No limitations and fun for everybody!. I can not speak for Jack, but I think his motives here are quite obvious, People helping People.
The DTR is just another way for us to do that as a group or family. So anyone who wants to join should be welcomed with open arms.
Just like this Site, we want members from all walks of life and from around the globe.

Re:DTR Chapter News

TEDHRS,
I'm not too far from you and Keith. I'm in Disputanta, which is up Rt.460 in Prince George County. It's between Waverly and Petersburg. Dieseldude4x4 is also about 18 miles away from me too. It seems the hardest problem is getting folks together in one place at the same time.
I would also be interested in seeing a chapter get started in our area. My only problem is finding the time to attend get-togethers with me working rotating shift-work. One weekend of the month consist of Sat & Sun, and the other three weekends are Sun & Mon. And I'm not even going to talk about the double-shifts :
I've known Keith for a while now and can tell you he's a really great guy to have around,,,,,, a little crazy at times, but I gurantee you won't get bored Let me know if I can help out and hopefully I can get more time to devote in the future.

Dennis

Re:DTR Chapter News

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i am going to have to relinquish the job of trying to get a chapter started. I am being elected into office again with the horse show association and I am joining the local r/c club to race. I fear i will not have time to do the job that would be required of me. If anyone else wants to take over, please do. You can email me for the forms or SFtopsSGT.

Hopefully you will be able to join a chapter there once it starts and help us out with your input that way. Thanks for trying!
