diesel power source twin turbos

has any body ever heard of this set before. I ran into them on ebay. It looks like they come with a htb2 and ht3b and all the cold pipeing is silicone tubeing. the complete bolt on set is only like 3500. Anybody delt with them or this set. seems like it would be a good deal if they work good.

Alot of people around here have been waiting for someone to buy one of there turbos (or the compounds you mentioned) but nobody has taken a chance yet.

The prices are good but most people (like myself) tend to think you get what you pay for. They have a good price. Someone needs to buy em and see if the quality is there!

A lot depends on how they set up the ht2b. The ht3b is a solid turbo, but is "old school" Flows a little like the K31 at s400 spoolup... meaning you sacrifice a little at either end (slower spool, less overall air) than the newer turbos but it is an inexpensive and somewhat bulletproof turbo. Again overall performance depends on the setup of the top turbo and your satisfaction is going to depend on that and the quality of build. Without knowing the particulars of the top turbo, that set up may be capable of supporting close to or even over 700hp.

I don't think it is an HTB2. It is their own design. When they list on e-bay, IIRC, I think they put the terms "phat shaft" and maybe "HTB2" to get looks from turbo shoppers. Their twins use some another company's turbo and their own 62/12. I would try them for their single, but I want a lil' bigger turbo. Prices are great. They could be some really cool people starting out a new business with a cool product and great customer service (hopefully).

Gross! How do you know they are made in China (I am not calling you a liar, I am just curious)? It seems so much of the stuff made in China, whether it be metal, something machined, dog food, children's toys, or whatever, has something seriously screwy going on.

Check out this web site for turbos made in china. The same company could be making the turbos for the diesel kits. Like said above, buy at your own risk. http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1489

I know some guys who are running these XS-power turbos and are not having any problems....yet http://xs-power.com/turbos.htm They got them from the web site in the above post. I have heard stories of other folks who had turbos literally fall apart on them. If they are using turbos from these guys you might have better luck They seem to be of better quality http://www.partsexpressonline.com/about.htm

why not buy from a reliable dealer, such as BD or Industrial Injection? I definately would NOT buy the eBay twins, just looking for a headache, I think

I would tend to trust anything turbo related that IdahoCTD (Nathan Wright of MPI) has to say. High Tech Turbo (HTT) is located just down the street from my house, so I went in to talk to them when I was researching a twins setup. When I mentioned I was thinking of having Nathan build me a set, they kinda took a step back and said, "oh, Nathan Wright? He is the twins guru right now!". That evening I called up Nathan and placed my order!

For $3500 you could get a complete kit (please see my post about my twins kit I received from him, http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...d.php?t=183784) using your stocker over an S400. This setup is being used by numerous people here and has proven reliable and has put up some impressive numbers.

Jared

The problem with E-bay and other unknown internet companies is what happens if something goes wrong? Even if say they were HTT/II/ATS turbos, you have to be very carefull and buy from an authorized dealer to get the full extent of a warranty. Lets face it brand new mechanical parts break sometimes, and it would be very nice to call a reputable shop and say hey my stuff broke rather than go on a hunt for someone off e-bay. Just my opinion I would rather spen more up front and know if their is a problem it will be resolved.

Ehh...I dunno ebay scares me sometimes...I mean I use it a lot but for stuff like twins I would go through a repuatable dealer. For the same money you could do the MPI socker over s400 twins. Plus the guy who makes them is like 3 posts above me so in case something goes wrong you can easily get a hold of him. Personally, once I get the coin and the transmission I am totally sold on the MPI twins. Just looking at the pictures some of you fine folks have added you can tell how well designed they are. Best of luck

I'd stay away from those ebay kits.

Unless it's another diesel owner selling his used name-brand kit.

Ever heard the expression pay now or pay more later. It always costs more when you do it right the second time
