1. can the injector pump die on the spot and cause this?
I have seen stranger things, but I have never seen an IP just QUIT. 2. can an air leak in the supply line cause this? (the injectors do get fuel) Yes, Air can suck in and not let the pump build pressure. 3. will the pump off his 89 swap to the 93 without changing anything else? No, you have to change the delivery valves otherwise, yes. 4. should he go and bleed some more? I would completely remove the fuel shutoff selinoid and gut it just to be sure it's not letting enough fuel out to see but not to start. Then bleed some more. Once you're sure the IP is bleed well, Bleed the first four injectors, leave the last two or any two lines unhooked and it should start. The time it takes to reattach the other lines allows any additional air to get out. Just my $.02

look for the fuel shut off solnoid it has two wires on it chk to see if one of the wires is broken that could cause the IP to quit working

91.5 I/C CTD 4x4, Old Smokey fuel pin. 1.5 turns on the pump, 4 in quiet exhaust , A518 just rebuilt, with 3.55. stock tires, w/ open air filter 366 spring and 16cm housing other then that its stock. Saving money for Injectors getting them built buy Red Oak Diesel in Iowa. |

i vote for the shut off solinoid, mine was like that went out one morning and it didn't start, replaced the solinoid and it started.

![]() Thanks for the help, should have ripped the shutoff solenoid apart at first. that fixxed it. So the guy thought he had a $550 repair with the injection pump.... turned out to be $10..... Again thanks for all the info over the past year and half.
