What did the D60 front end come in??

I really wanna convert my 2wd to 4wd and I would like to know what the D60 came in other than our trucks, ie fords, chevys. I really wanna find one local so I dont have to sell my kidney to ship it.

Here is One of the better info sites i have found .......... This Guy knows Dana axles
http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/60_front/

You need a T-case and tail housing for the t-case to tranny plus the gate and shifter. I don't know Autos but you may need a different cross member

this is a very good source for finding our old stuff in the bone yards
http://www.car-part.com/

Edit: I wish I could trade you folks some rolling 4x4 chassis for some of the mint bodys you have lol. I have 2 whole trucks and 2 rolling cummins 3/4 tonne chassis

Thanks.. I think im gonna score the d60 first and convert the front end. Then when funds allow do the tranny and trans case making it functional.
Gotta love the desert for giving rust free bodies.

The spring perches on the chevys are about 1" or 2" wider than the Dodges.

Ford differential is on the wrong side, at least to use a factory 205 t-case. I suppose you could use a ford diff, but use a newer 241 drivers drop t-case.

trkenvy,
you might be better off buying a wrecked dodge and move all the parts you need from wrek to your truck- will save you a lot of running around for little parts that you didnt think about

The spring perches are within 1/2" between Chevy and Dodge, and a 78/9 Ford axle, you can move the springs enough on the bushings that it will work no problem. I have seen swaps done using the Ford axle, but, driveline packaging would be an issue.

The chevy's use a wider leaf up front 3" vs. 2-1/2", and have a wider track width. The 1st gen's have slightly different steering knuckles too. I would try to find a 1st gen front end.
