I was gonna have 4WP check out my airbag suspension when I had a small air leak. This is supposed to be their specialty, so I figured I'd take it to them.
Their response was, "You need a new kit, we can't find the leak.", so I asked them why I'd need a new kit if it was just under a year old and why they couldn't find the leak. Again, it was the same answer ...... we can't find the leak so you need a new kit. I paid 80 bucks for this incredible diagnosis and was rushed out so work could begin on another truck. Took it to Les Schwab and they found the problem and repaired it under warranty with no cost to me. I have to say this was the best 80 bucks I've spent. Now I know who NOT to use in the future. I just had a tread seperation last Monday on my 265/75/16 Dean Mud Terrains. I bought them in February 2005 and had 28000 miles on them. The tire trashed the fender and exhaust pipe. The tire was sent to Cooper. We will see what happens.

Les Swab sent me a love letter saying that all they do is sell tires and it is up to Cooper to make things right. More paperwork sent to Cooper.

had a bfg m/t km2 with the tread fly off of it with 10,000 miles on it. tire shop said not to even bother sending it in they will deny it. Hate to spend $269 on a tire and it go 10k miles.

So i have had a set of Dick cepek 35 13.50 FCII for a few years now. (also had a set of mastercrafts that i had on the stock rims and used those for about a year and a half or more). Anyhow my FCII have been ok but i went to compare the date codes and couldnt find anything relevant. of the 4 tires, two were marked as "DOT 3D26 XFJ 2605" and elswhere "Design 0229 466847". That would be the 26th week of 2005 Manufacturer date. The other two were seemingly missing the date code after the DOT 3D26 XFJ. they also have marked 466847 and i noticed "R- 30380". Can anyone help me sort this out? All 4 were bought at the same time through a local 4 wheel offroad shop.
thanks PS im not really concerned as i love these tires and would/ will buy another set for my truck. They look great and the ride is good. I think i would maybe go with the 35 12.50 20's next time though for a little weight /stress savings. I just want to know if im possibly due for some replacment rubber

Check the date code branded into the side of tires when you buy them. Lots of tires being sold for new are really old tires. After 6 or 7 yrs a tire rubber dries out and can be dangerous. Quick search on the internet on how to read tire date code and you'll find lots of info.
PS. DOT date code is only branded on one side of the tire. You may have to look at the tire from the back side depending on how it's mounted. After 2000 it looks like this, This is 51st week of 2007 manufacture date ![]() Before 2000 it looks like this, This is the 40th week of 1998 manufacture date. ![]()

As heavy as these trucks are, they need really good tires for safety. I'm on my 3rd set of Michelins--they ain't cheap, but I've never had a problem with them other than a slight tendency to hydroplane. I get about 90,000 miles per set. But I'll drive 70 mph across I-40 in the summer, carrying 1,000 pounds of tools, when temps are 100 degrees... I need a good tire.

I agree Bob, Michelins are good tires if you can afford them. Lots of the logging contractors use them in my area and really put them to the test. Belt separation are very rare with them. Last set I bought were cheep ones from Walmart I don't remember the name. (made in china) Been up and down the I-5 pulling 5er and so far 2yrs they have been really good. About 20,000 miles. I expect about 40,000 will do them in. Get what you pay for............

I've started getting a bad vibration on the front passenger tire of my truck. Its a Pro Comp XAT, 35x12.50x17. I don't know what the problem is, but that one tire has started to wear like crap. I am putting tires on my truck as soon as possible, as I don't want to be a danger to those around me.
