D*#n Hilly Roads

Had to take a short cut back to my ladys house in PA,it was raining and at 31* (freezing rain) running the back roads with an empty trailer...then I found a monster upgrade hill...even looking up the hill it looked like the road to heaven ( straight up )...looked at the GPS and found no other roads close by....started up the hill about 1/2 mile long by the time I got to the top I could walk faster then the truck was going but my speedo still said 45 MPH...pulled over at the top got out and my tires where still smoking (maybe it was steam)...after a short rest I started out again Oh Oh cant move checked out everything found my trailer break away brakes had applyed...moral of story dont pull a trailer with the brakes applyed up hill its nerve racking :-[

pappyman
I'm impressed Think of what you did - you hauled a trailer with the brakes on up an icy hill Thats pretty impressive - only in a CTD. To me it's nerve wracking just driving on ice. I escaped from upstate NY in the late '60's so I'm familiar with those type of driving conditions. When we get ice in Portland OR the whole city comes to a crashing and I do mean "crashing" hault.
Bob
