Cooper ST Tires on a Dually
Is anyone running the Cooper SC 265/75 R17 tires on a dually without spacers? I really need to get baby a new pair of shoes and want something a little more aggressive. I waited to see if there would be any 255/80 r17 but I really cant wait any longer.
Thanks

I have Cooper s/t's 265/70/17's and they barely fit without spacers...although after 150k+ km of towing heavy and drag racing there is only some wearbars and 1/32 left. I don't think they make 75 series except in a 245...I had 235's on the inside back for a while but they were skinnier than stock...The 245 75 17 is only slightly taller than stock in diameter and is probably just a little wider. The 265's are way wider but .40inch smaller in diameter...or about 4/32 less tread. The 265's were awesome for everything....If you tow heavy you will have to crank the pressure up to 80psi to keep the tires apart especially in warmer climates. KS

My mistake you are right they are 265/70 17 and they are the cooper ST-C tires supposedly a little tougher than the ST. So is the 05 dually the same in the rear end as the 03 as far as distance between the tires? Thanks for the info.

I have ATR's 265/75 on mine and they are about 3/8" apart in the back but with 80psi in they have hauled very heavy and not rubbed. I really like the ATR's but they sure like to throw gravel.

been looking at the coopers for a couple months. trying to decide what size to go with. i am looking to go taller and wider than stock. i prefer to have a taller than stock tire to cut some rpm's at highway speeds. but do want to run spacers on the rear

I have run Toyo LT265/70R17's on my '06 dually with no problems, kept them at 65psi and never ever had them touch together- even when towing my 14,000lb Fifth Wheel. The 285/70R17's I have on now are another story.
They should fit good but the Coopers may have more sidewall bulge to them- you just nevr know.

if you want spacers, Jegs sell them, 8x6.5 x1/4" thick set sells for $15.99, p#720-2376 i also ran 265/75r16's on my old 96, they didnt touch at the bottom, but it was close, so i put a set on anyway. i pull a fairly decent load on my goose neck most of the time. good luck.

Measured the tires yesterday and the Cooper S/T's still have 5/32 on one side on the rear and 6/32 on the otherside...I just can't kill these tires.Kerry
