chevy/cummins Q's
I'm building a 79 chevy 1ton with a 12v. I'm using a 94 Dodge driveshaft that i had lengthened to fit. The problem i ran into is the dodge 1410 u-joint is too large for the 14 bolt yoke. Any suggestions to resolve this? What did you chevy guys use on yours?

I guess our small town parts stores dont know what they're lookin for. They said they couldnt get the u-joint to fit it. Where can I purchase the new yoke from? thanks for the info

Any driveline specialties shop or authorised Dana/Spicer Dealer.

thanks papecat
1-5 which driveshaft did you use on yours? Just wondering if you used the chevy shaft and if it is holding good. The factory shaft on mine was much smaller so i decided to use the dodge shaft i had layin around.

I think I'm going to use the shafts out of the dodge diesel. If anything I will use the larger yokes from them as I will need to lengthen it a little bit anyway. My '89 D250 has a 4" diameter beefy shaft, the 1990 4x4 has a 3" diameter shaft.

How hard would it be to install a Cummins 6BT in a 67-72 Chevy C10/C20 two wheel drive? Are those older Chevy truck frames similar in geometry as far as engine mount locations to the late 70's to mid 80's truck frames? I know where a 6BT engine is mounted in a Chevy/GMC 1 ton truck frame that's probably an 80's vintage truck. The truck body is gone except for the front radiator support and aluminum box body mounted on the back of it. It looks like it's definitely a crew cab GM truck telling from the length of the frame from front to back. Thanks for any advice.

RamW, they are the same from 1960-87.
You actually probably have found a P30 Chevy chassis frame. Make sure it is not a 4BT, which many were converted to. The 4BT would actually be a better swap candidate.....
