cab heater option

was at the local Dodge dealer today looking through the 2007 Dodge Heavy Duty book, and noticed the option of a diesel powered cab heater. why didn't this exist before?! anyways, does anyone have one, and does it work good? wondering on the quality and option price compared to an Espar, Webasto, etc. Wish I could have the cab heater and e-brake on my '04 as factory options!

Did they install one that heats coolant + cab (hopefully through coolant). That'd be sweet, and totally targeting the up-north market of trucks that operate in stupidly cold areas.

I'm sure that anyone can get the heater installed in their truck.

ScottN yes it is the one that heats the coolant and cab. I've had my truck -sit outside in -40C weather this winter in Ft. McMurray not plugged in and with the espar had heat within a few minutes with my high idle with the Jake.

I had the heater installed at my local dealer which in hindsight was more than my local cummins dealer wanted about $2400 cdn.

I cant speak for those in the dodge but our hummers with GM 6.2L, in the army up in Fairbanks had them. They called them arctic heaters. They were great!

Just ordered my 3500 today and was told that the cab heater was not avialable on the 6.7 engines. Anyone have specifics on what brand and type so that I can get one of these heaters for my time up in Alaska.

When I ordered my heater the book listed both the '07 5.9 and '07 6.7 as being available as a dealer installed option.
