Cab and Chassis 36/36 warranty used up

I ran out of my trucks 36 month, 36,000 mile warranty today, a little less than 5 months after I put it into service. I don't believe anyone has to worry about how the 6.7 engine and aisin transmission are going to hold up, mine was perfect. Under oilfield hauling conditions, all type of roads, all types of conditions, with loads rangeing from 8500 to 24,000 lbs in tow. The truck is a workhorse. I have had one thing break since I bought it, the o-ring under the oil filler cap, leaked a little oil on top of my engine, not really a big deal.

Sorry guys, I know this is a dull report, but it's just the way I like it. I change fluids, check things over and get on the road. I'm making money there, I can't if it is in the shop.

Hi, I have the C&C, myself. What kind of mpg are you getting now? And do you have the bluetech emmissions?
Thanks.

Well that is good to hear! I was wondering how it was doing for you! I know what you mean about running out of warranty fast! I had over 15k on my truck in 2wks and took it into the dealer and they about freeked on me! Well if you can keep me up to date on how yours is doing because I want to know how it does by someone that really uses it for what it was made for! Want to get some real date before I go order mine. Take it easy!

since getting the bed on mine at around 600 miles it's had the crap pulled out of it too! & this thing is just unreal for a stock truck, they finally built a truck for us folks that actually use them day in & day out, mine has about 3400 miles on it now, ( a far cry from your 36,000 I know!! lol) & I love it more everyday, mine is the G56 manual tranny & 3:73 gears & the combo does a great job, for the most part on the interstate after you find the big gear that's where she stays, & I've probably grossed out at around 23-25000lb's a time or two, & the exhaust brake is the greatest thing since sliced bread!! anyway, keep us updated, glad to hear good reports on a truck that's actually used for more than to carry the groceries!! hope your luck stays good, as well as my own! Dusty

My mileage is running between 9 and 11 with a loaded trailer, depending on weight and wind resistance, and 15 to 16 just the truck. The truck weighs 9800 with full fuel. I guess I have the bluetech emissions, it is 2007 emissions. When I got my truck they didn't list it like that, but I do have the DPF on the truck.

Yeah, the 3/36 warranty is definitely NOT going to last long. I've had mine for 2 weeks and it's got 7K on it already!!
Already posted how pleased I am with it's performance. Now it needs to start getting some decent fuel mileage. Haven't seen double digits fuel mileage while towing anything yet.

The engine (of course) and aisin tranny have a much longer warranty don't they?

P.S., I've had my CTD coming up on 4 years and I only have 45k miles, drive it nearly every day and have pulled my RV out the coast and midwest a couple of times. Geez, I guess I need to get out more !

I was steelheading in Idaho last fall and a guy drove up in a cherry looking 1st gen (1991 I think) with a camper on it. Looked like he's just driven it off the dealer lot. Complemented him on the truck, he said he just inherited it from his father's estate, who apparently never took it anywhere because he had less than 30k on it!

I see from your trucks sig. that you must have the pickup model. (2010 compliant) I don't know what your mileage might be, (different engine setup) mine is the 305 hp with the Aisin transmission. Could be the extra hp on your truck is hurting the mileage while towing, don't know. I, for the most part will average just a little over 10 loaded unless I'm really heavy or the load catches a lot of wind. With just the empty trailer, it will usually run between 12 & 13, I'm also a pretty easy driver.

yeah mine sits around. i hate paying so much for it to sit, but when it is paid off, it will still have plenty of miles left on her.
