Blowby or oil leak?

I've got oil on the crossmember behind the oil pan (not on the oil pan itself). It looks like it is coming from an open tube pointing towards the ground just in front of the crossmember and behind the starter on the driver's side. I can't see where the tube goes, but as it goes up it curves towards the back of the engine. The bottom of the tube is oily.

Is the tube venting blowby or do I have a leak somewhere?

This is a 2003 2500 with the standard Cummins (not HO), automatic, and about 135,000 miles.

That's your crankcase vent tube...I believe that's normal.

Have you changed your oil recently? Maybe overfilled it a little and the extra blew out.

It's normal for it to leak some. A drop or 2 now and then. Unless you are losing oil on the dipstick, don't worry about it.

I had oil leaking also. I saw what looked like it was coming from the breather tube but turned out to be coming from the injecter pump. There is a plastic cover on mine that the man working on it said at best you can get about 3 threads turned on the bolt for it. It was a half turn loose. After tighting the leak was fixed. The fan was blowing it back onto the oil pan cover. 06 Ram 3500

Thanks, guys. as a matter of fact I did have the oil changed recently. I'm going to take Spooler's advice and not worry about it.
