Just so everyone knows, Geno's is back ordered on these as of today. Email said in 5-7 days they are expected to be back in stock.

I got the cord from geno's and wanted to install it permanently instead of removing it in the summer. Since it doesn't have the fasteners like the Dodge cord, I used some plastic tubing, 1/4 inch plastic anchors and these cable clamps to fasten it in the stock holes in the frame.

Up here in the great white North we use the block heater a lot
. One thing to do though is to plug it into an extension cord under the hood then run the plug for the extension cord out through the front. That plug is the one that you then plug your extension cord into. Why two extension cords? Well the block heater cords can get damaged up close to the plug from just usage but also pulling away when you are plugged in. The wire brakes internally and you don't notice it until it's cold and you can't get it started. ![]()

I am not sure if my truck has that or not... I lived in San Diego when I got my truck so that was the last thing on my mind. Do the 06's come with that normally or do you guys order the heaters? If it is an addition I am fairly sure they don't have them on mine being it gets like 50 degrees maybe in the winter. However I do plan on moving to Omaha. What would it run me to get a block heater? Or is it even feasible or possible? Bare with me. I am from Houston so I have zero experience with block heaters. I didn't even know what they were until reading a few posts on here.

The block heater is standard, the cord is not. All you have to do is get the cord from a Cummins store, genos or, napa. The dodge dealership as a last resort.
