zaskar and his tow rig

Hey guys...
I'm Oscar from Atlanta.
I got a 2006 2500 with a 6 speed manual transmission. It is completely stock and I love the way it runs.
the heaviest load I've towed is probably a 9000 lb trailer from detroit to Atl.
Now right off the bat I would say that if it wasn't for the fact that the truck has a Cummins for engine, a NV5600 for transmission and a Saginaw for axle I would not have bought it.
I like the looks of the truck but hate the problems that the so called "American" trucks come with. Things like intermittent connection on the rear view mirror **** on the door, worn paint on the rear window button, the cheesy sound system are all products of poor engineering and trying to cut corners that only hurt the company in the long run.
I would say that if Toyota comes up with a 3/4 or a 1 ton diesel truck I would be one of the first ones to buy it.
I owned a Tacoma before I bought this truck and the only problem I had with that truck was a bad CD player that the company quickly replaced after I emailed Toyota even though it was a year after I bought the truck.
Now for the stupid annoying things I have on this truck the response I get from Dodge is a " that's not covered under warranty" I guess that's what I get for buying a truck made in Mexico (No pun intended to my mexican brothers ..
The reason why I joined this forum is curiosity and questions on either turning my 2WD into a 4WD or buying/trading a comparable, manual transmission, 4WD with a stick for the TC.
So that's it.
I'll update my profile later on.
Thanks

Welcome to the DTR.

A lot of us have dodges because the cummins came wrapped in it. I too wish that the dodge was a little nicer.

Good luck.
