Your thoughts on these items???

Getting the new truck setup to tow and looking for feedback on parts I am thinking about using...

Truck and trailer:
Truck is my new (to me) '07 2500 listed in my sig, the trailer is a '98 Pace American car hauler ~5K# unloaded (because it has, AC insulated walls, Cabinets, sink, shower water storage and etc.) and about 9K# loaded for a normal race (car, generator, tools, other gear, and etc.) and will have some long hauls (2500 miles) with it weighing in at more than 10K#. The long hauls are new and why I stepped up to a bigger CTD truck, but now I want to be sure I get good parts to allow it to haul properly. The trucks hitch height is at just about 29" whereas the trailer (when level) needs just about 19.5" hitch height...

Drop Hitch stuff:
I have talked to at least one guy who runs the OUO Drop receiver and he says it works well and recommends it, but how about you guys, what do you think of this setup?

It's either that or replacing the shank on my current WD hitch setup with a drop shank that drops 9.5" (yes, I have found 2 of those in the sub $200 range) but feel there might be a little wobble introduced there that wouldn't be in the supported drop receiver, plus I wold be maxed out as low as it can go. My wife thinks I shouldn't cheap out and get these and should go for the OUO setup, what about you guys?

Air bags:
I had airbags on my old '05 1500, that pulled the same trailer but was only good for shorter trip (maybe 250 miles) and never over 9K#, and they were needed even with the WD setup, and hell that truck would drop ~1"+ in the rear if I (weighing about 225#) sat on the tailgate let alone a traler hooked up so they were required. But, now that I have this 2500, the rearend doesn't drop more than 1/16" with me sitting on the tailgate, I have read guys on here with 2500-3500 trucks still run airbags but not sure if they are also using WD hitch or if they are needed for a 2500 with a WD setup? Also I have found an airbag kit that is designed for lifted trucks but have no experiance with the brand Hellwig or their kit for Dodge trucks with a 6" lift, any comments there would be helpfull to (if you guys even think they are needed).

Thanks,
John P.

I have a stock 3500. The hitch sits at 20". If you went back to stock, it would make your life a lot easier & be better for towing. A minimal 1" drop bar would get the job done. Big tires, if you have them, also hurt your towing ability & mileage.
I am sure you could find a buyer for the lift stuff, as it seems lots of people like to do this..
The air bags are a good idea, also Bilstein shocks if you do not have them.
