all you need to know is in that link. It isnt stamped - its cast right into the block. Numbers are an inch tall.

dont know for sure, but I would imagine that any performance box will likely void the block warranty

The 5 year/100K warranty is fully transferable.

Dodge won't do anything about the 53 block unless it cracks during the warranty period.

Cummins has been known to try to help if it cracks after the warranty is up.

Nothing to get worried over. Less than 1% have reported failure. Most of those 1% were used for extreme towing or racing, and if not by the current owner, then previous owner.

Nothing at all to get worried over. If it happens it happens, till then tear it up.

Check your VIN. It's my understanding from reading many posts the past few years, that if your VIN begins with 1, you have a better chance of having a #53 block. The truck was assembled in St. Louis.

If it begins with 3, it was assembled in Mexico, and is less likely to have that block. FWIW.

Dont know if I agree with that stat - is that direct from Cummins or DC??? Seems like I have read about QUITE a few crackers on DTR alone. Haulin In Dixie has cracked not one but TWO #53's.

Personally, I already have enough headaches in my life and dont have the time, shop, $$, or patience to deal with a cracked block, JMO.

All engines are/were manufactured in Columbus, Indiana at the time so where the truck was made has no bearing on where the block came from.
