I also got a valet switch for my afc housing it came off an old concrete truck thaf had air switch for the two speed. It was free, I bought a new fluid damper sfi. its all going to put on this week end Wrenching fun

Yeah BoyHowdy!
Are you referring to a Fluidampr? Be aware, on my heap, the damper initially wanted to just >kiss< the backside of the fan blade. Had to move the fan forward to give about 1/4" space. If you're running a crankshaft position sensor, you'll need to get the sensor relocation kit cause the Fluidampr is larger in outside diameter compared to the OEM damper.
Are we having fun yet?

i have one on the bench for dad's dmax. after replacing the dual mass flywheel with a single mass flywheel i thought i should try and help the dampening effect lost by replacing the flywheel.

Better damping effect over a wider range of RPM torsional harmonic peaks as compared to the commonly seen resilient mounted ring. Cummins uses the fluid damper on some of their engines though I'm not sure which series. It's maintenance is covered in the operational and maintenance manual for industrial engines.
