Hey, no way, Jose. I love the Ghost really well. Just don't like that shudder in first gear. My main concern is that nothing is getting hurt with it. I can back it off a little in first - - just gets me rolling anyway. I had never pushed it in first until about three weeks ago - - got into a little position where I wanted to get up to speed a little quicker. It has just a smidgin (ya'll know what a smidgin is, right?) of shudder in 2nd if you really push it on down. It could just the shivers running down old Ghost's back from all that power - - she just gets all excited and sweaty. ;D ;D ;D

You just gotta look at their history with the 3.8l head gasket fiasco. If you screamed they covered it and if not you paid. 4.2l engine in the F150 is same engine, just stretched a bit. Same problems with them. Timing cover leaking and eats the crank brgs. What gets me is people still buy that junk. Hey Bob hope the shiverin Ghost gets repaired for ya.

And don't forget the 2.9s that were put rangers and bronco iis. Cracks the heads. So bad that world products designed a new head for this app. I had a Ranger with the 2.9 and when the head cracked I wasn't aware of the wide spread issues with it, but every ford dealer stocked replacement heads, but had never heard of any problems with the heads . Mine cracked about 9,000 miles out of warranty. It will be a very long time before I buy another ford product >. My Chevy truck never had any problems compared to the ford.

Early 4.0 Explorers also cracked heads between the valves. The OHC 4.0 siezed the rear right lobe on early production engines. They were a bastard to change. Shall we start talking about Dodge caravan overdrive transmissions or their A/C systems?? LOL

Pretty common for Cummins engines to develop cracks in the valve areas too - and early Cummins heads ('89-'91)with the smaller injectors were noted for cracks in the injector area as well. Some of the guys trying to get their Cummins heads O-ringed hafta go thru 2-3 different heads to find one NOT having serious enough cracks to make them poor choices for O-ringing...

Dang man. That ain't tight. The fact they won't issue a recall is what really gets me.
[/quote]
The reason they dont issue one at first is because they have to have a certain number of "bring backs" to call a recal. :

Still have a 4.0 Ranger, best small truck I ever owned, over 200,000 on it, only problem with the truck was the rubber plugs in the Mazda trans. So far the only other work on the truck was a set of plugs at 110,000 and I worked the heck out of it.
