wow, what a diferance...

i normaly run wally world " winter " washer fluid in my truck. tonight i decided to hand mix a batch for the tank @ 50% meth.

wow! my truck will now run thru 6th gear faster than it ever did in 5th!

whats realy cool is it seems like after a run or two, it must have done a realy good job blowing the carbon out of the cylnder and cleaning the tips, cas it runs like a scalded dog now even with the meth turned off!

but shhhhh... dont tell the local guys.. i want to see how long it takes for them to figure it out!

Easy on that heavy mix... the meth really advanced your timing because it lights much earlier than the diesel. There's many head gaskets that are in the trash because of this....
I wouldn't run anything more than say 20%. Heck most of the time I run straight water just for the cooling affects. That's just me though... I don't wanna change my head gasket...

realy? i thought i had read that 50% is concidered safe , and that wally world " winter " is suposed to be about 30%?

i am however running 2 small nozels on a progresive setup.
im not hearing timing rattle type noise like i was when i first installed it with larger nozels.

i have a buddie that was running 2 large " firehydrants " on a hobbs switch setup that just poped a gasket, so i was kinda leary.

Do a search on water/meth injection. Lots of good reading. Some guys curse it like it's the devil (meth, that is).... I'd just rather be safe than sorry and hate to see you do damage. Not only a head gasket but that much advancement in timing can kill pistons and important stuff like that...
I agree that spraying water/meth seems to clean up the combustion chamber. I think it helped clear up some injector issues for me. Just take it easy. Seriously, 50% is way too much, in my opinion. You may not hear it knock like advanced injection timing but it does get advanced. I run two nozzles on my Devilsown system but it's not progressive. I did gain around 30hp from the spray but my only concern was keeping temps down which I knocked about 100degrees or so off of my high end.

edit- my setup is progressive in the way it ramps up pressure from the meth pump. Starts at around 15psi and maxed out at about 45psi. But both nozzels spray at same time.

50% meth with the small '03 stock turbo and no head studs is just asking for a blown HG.

You won't hear any rattle from the advanced timing with W/M like you would with a programmer/module. The progressive setup is easier on your driveline components, but when it ramps up all the way it's still injecting 50% meth into the engine just the same as a Hobb's setup would. I know what you mean about the power. My '93 felt like it had nitrous when the 50% W/M kicked in, but I only used it at the track a couple times. I'm pretty sure the washer fluid is less than 30%. Most are about 10-15%. Personally I would keep the mixture at 20% meth or less.

I agree with DTR Member trik396,......50% is too much methanol!
If you hear ANY kind of knocking or any sound that resembles "spark ping" in a gas car, you will know you are about to do some damage. I have a pretty elaborate water injection system on my 96' Dodge CTD 12 valve and because of the "fixed" timing I cannot run methanol due to the bad detonation it causes on my truck. It is generally not as bad on the Dodge 24 valve or CR trucks because of the variable/electronic timing, but it can STILL break parts! I would suggest going down on the mixture percentage.

I am baffeled on this now I run winter mix cheap fluid from Wally world. THe last time I dyno'd I had no water first run then turnt it on and lost Hp. Turnt up Mp-8 lost more Hp but gained Tq. The only thing I get with H2O/Meth is more smoke when its on and I have two 625 jets in air horn.

Something doesn't sound right... Are you sure it's spraying correctly and at high enough pressure? Straight water alone gave me some hp.

found some msds sheets -20 blue fluid is 33% meth.
per snow, the higher h2o concentrations are actualy worse than high concentrations of meth.
also they state you wont hear detination from meth, only from the h2o causeing quench.
