Would this work?
For easy differential drain, take off covers,drill hole (3/4") at bottom,weld in
bung,& put in plug. presto! cheap diff drain.

I think most of us prefer to pull the cover all the way off so we can feel around on the bottom for shavings or broken parts. It makes the hands sell so nice too.......
