What would happen if I stacked a superchip with my edge? If I watched my egts would I be okay?

Some have done it however I would not recommend it as there will be too much timing. Especially if you have a HO engine save your next paycheck for a headgasket.

If you're a gambling man then go for it. It will probably have great throttle response and a lot of timing rattle. I definitely would NOT stack the two on my truck.

"Throttle" response will likely be poor from the excessive timing. You will also have much less grunt off idle and at lower RPM.

Also with all that timing, your egts will read barely safe on the gauge but really = meltdown of the pistons. Some 3rd gen trucks have doubled up on timing modules, towed heavy, never got over 1300, and melted pistons.

I have heard that on some of our trucks that stack is pretty powerful, but eventually sets codes and the loud idle racket gets old.

I dont think it would be a good idea @ all. Ive seen it done and the rattle that is induced from that much timing is unbearable. Tell ya what, Im going to be back in Stephenville on 1-13-08 and have a Smarty if you want to try stacking something. Ill let you borrow it for a joyride. I think you would love it. Ive stacked it with a Comp and it was NIIIICE! If interested, send me a pm with your phone #.

My friend had a superchip that he would almost give me, so thats why i asked. I can't afford a smarty but I'd love to try it out. I can't do anything today, so maybe some other time you are in town?

I live in stephenville so just hit me up some time when its convenient and Id have no problem letting you try mine out.....or borrow it if you ever wanted to go pull. It really stacks well with the Edge stuff as long as you keep it on the even settings that dont add timing.

There have been guys who have seen a gain by adding the superchips to an edge box. Something like 10-15 hp if I recall. I wouldn't recommend it.

Question Stack Question

Does the superchips do boost fooling? I have the Boost elbow in my turbo from the Edge comp, What I was wondering,,,I know it's not good to stack the two BUT if I left the comp OFF (does boost fooling) and then used the superchips would that work?

Thanks

I think so. The superchips doesn't do boost fooling by itself, but I'd think it'd work like you said. It might be easier just to run the edge turned down =P
