Smile Will this work?

I have a BHAF in my 98 and have been thinking about running a flex hose from the front grill up thru the fender and out of the OEM boot to the filter so that it actually will force colder air to the BHAF. Will that lower my EGTs and help on fuel milage? With the price of fuel these days a person has to try to squeeze every mile he can.
Thanks in advance for all responses.

Wouldn't it work somewhat like ram air? The faster you drive the more air is forced to the filter?

The faster you drive the more fuel you'll use, kind of a Catch22.

I say give it a try cooler air is more dense, more hp. Let me know how it works out. It doesn't have to be ram air. Just cooler air, then the hot air under the hood.
