WOO HOO! Bought a 2001 3500! Need some info.
So I just put down a deposit on this dually:
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...0&pgno=1&srt=1
Its got a Van aaken module in it, any comments on them. I'm guessing that I should get a fuel pressure guage on there ASAP and see how its doing. Any other things I should check?
The steering is a bit goofy, feels ok no slop or wandr but the wheel is out a full 90* bit more than that probably. Is is just needing an adjustment at the drag link or is something screwed?
Its has rear discs! That was deal cincher, no more screwing around with those stupid adjusters on the drums! Does this make it a 2001.5? Any other changes with the .5?
I'm never going to get to sleep tonight!

Yes I ALWAYS want more!!! The power was adequate on the test drive, felt a bit slower than my tuned up 1st gen.
Whats special with the Sport package? I always thought the sport package was the stripped down model but htis thing is loaded, has everything that my sister's '01' 1500 SLT Laramine has.

Oh yeah, who put those dinky mirrors on a dually? Is there a towing option? I have slide ons currently on my '92 and aren't very fond of them.

And the dual bulb headlights, supposed to put out better light than the regular ones.
See if they will knock off $1000 for advertising it as having alloy wheels.

Just drove the truck home, rides great! Runs upto(and beyond) 100mph no problem. Just have to get teh steering wheel figured out so I can seethe dsah!
So how do those dual bulbs work? I checked and on both high and low beams only the outside ones light up. When I get some time I'll pull them, maybe they are burnt out?

I had it upto 180km/h and it felt good but I was on a really good sstretch of highway. Today at 140km/h on some rougher highway the front end would bounce and kick so I'll be checking things out.
I've got 3.55s btw.
PD $20,000CDN for it.
