Wobbly steering wheel

The steering wheel on my 98 2500 is wobbly and kind of sticky. Thought maybe the nut was loose so I removed the airbag to check it and it was tight. The movement appears to be where the shaft enters the column so I went to a dealer to see if there was a top bearing available. There was only a listing for a $1100 replacement column which isn't going to happen. Any ideas? the truck has an adjustable steering column but a quick check showed no probelms down line.

Is it the joints? If they are worn out, you could go with a complete replacement from Borgeson or Flaming River. I think they are around 200 bucks.
