Is WIX OK?
Living in a very small town, I was not happily surprised to find out the availability of quality oil filters here. No Mopar, Fleetguard, or Baldwin. Best I could find is a Napa gold made by wix. Is this filter acceptable for my 2006 CTD 3500 Megacab. I also want to know if Rottela T is good for this engine as I have heard otherwise.

Both of those are good. I too live in a small town and I have found Geno's to be a good place to order in filters to have the ready when I need one.
Rotella is good oil and I am sure it meets and exceeds any thing that Dodge has.

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
Another vote for Geno's. I buy my fleetguard filters from there. Good prices and easy to deal with. Not to start another war on fuel filters but they do carry the 7micron fuel filters.

Its getting to where I'm afraid to even look cross-ways at this truck. Bought the Cummins for its longevity and want nothing less than the best. Just having to wade through everything, gets nerveracking sometimes. Just placed a MASSIVE order to Geno's.

I just put a wix in mine to its all I could find with out special order. somebody needs to find out if it really does void your warrenty?
If it does void it why do they even make it?Also I changed my fuel filter i hopes of getting better gas mileag. but nope I still get about 13 mpg city and 15 hwy. All I hear about is everybody gettting 18 city and 20 hwy? what gives? any help would be great. my truck is a 04.5 all stock.

I have never heard anything but good about wix filters...
Only ones i know to avoid are FRAM filters. Interesting that fram was the only one to make the "filters to Avoid" list.

How many miles do you have on it? i've got about16,500 and I get around 15.5-16.5 city and I tend to have a lead foot. Mine is all stock right now, if I had the chip or prog. on it I would get better. I drive mine harder than most and I've never had a problem. I had the prog. on it at about 3,500miles.

I have used Fram oil filters on the last three truck for a total of 140,000 miles and not one issue. I have also used only Wixs fuel filters in all three trucks and again no issues. Both of these products are made to meet or exceed the MFG. requirements. The problem with the Fram filter was under P/N 3976 the newer filter became P/N 3976A and again Honeywell nor Cummins faulted the other in the early 12valve engine failures due to oil nozzles clogging. Just my 2 cents worth.
